Kate my wife is a nurse. She had to do a PDRP when she first came inspite of 15 yrs experience. Its a dossier where you prove that you can do x y z by doing tasks and evidencing said tasks. The management over here is crap as everywhere but Kate worked in a really good hospital in relation to patient care. She now works for the local hospice as a community nurse..SHE LOVES IT!!!!!!!! It took her almost 3.5 years to get to her work nirvana and she feels it was worth the time. She loves nursing here only downside to NZ health care is apparently the rubbish primary care. Can't have it all can you? By the way I don't want tp paint a piccy of the nigh on perfect NHS system that is NZ healtcare because its riddled with aggro and problems..just like anywhere else..however all taken into consideration Kate is doing waaaaaaaaaay better than she ever had or would have done had she stayed in the UK NHS. Good luck.

Hi

My wife is a nurse in Chch and nas now moved jobs 3 times in two years, mainly beacuse the workload is a lot less than she is used to comming from Glasgow.

But in general the big diff is that you need to pay for treatment here, yes you can go to A&E and get treated. Depending on the field you work in the management seem more concerned with the cost of drugs rather than the care . butttttt all that aside we both love it here and the good far outweighs the bad
