nursing in NZ
Hi all,
Is there any ex-pat nurses out there?
Did any of you use a nursing agency to help you find work, obtain visas etc rather than an emigration company?
If so, how helpful were they, were they reasonably priced & is there any you would recommend?
On the other hand, is there any nurses that 'did it' on their own? How easy was it? Would this be the better option?
Thanks in advance,
Cheryl x

Re: nursing in NZ
I got a specialist nurse role without an agency by applying direct to the DHB (check out the web sites) Had 2 video link interviews and then negotiated 6 weeks rent free accommodation on arrival
If you go with an agency there is little room for negotiation as they will be paying agency fees!!!

Hi there. Read this link for how I got my job offer

I was really lucky and part of me thinks that they must be really desperate!!Seriously though, they seem really relaxed and I have read that a few people have had phone interviews only. Good luck and if I can help just ask....I might not know the answer but may be able to point you in the right direction.

If you are looking for the DHB or the GP Practice to sponsor you to get a work visa I cannot really comment. I know that the GP Practice that I work in would not go there but that may just be them.
Good look
