Default Nurse job interview

Hi everyone,

I have an interview for a paediatric nurse job next week and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of some relevant reading or suggest topics I should be aware of. It would be great to hear people's experiences.

Many thanks

I posted this same question on an fb page for uk nurses yest... This was the answer one of the very helpful ladies gave me...
"Ok so it's mainly the treaty of waitangi and cultural safety you need to understand. Nursing practice is pretty similar to the uk. There's a great website "mauriora" that has a free training module on cultural safety, the paid for ones are also excellent but depends on how much you want to get into it. Also try and learn some correct Maori pronunciation especially of place names- a lot of white New Zealanders don't bother but it's very much appreciated when you make an effort to do things right. You can also google something called "tikanga maori" which should tell you a lot of the taboos etc for nursing"

I found this online afterwards that links in with that http://www.nursingcouncil.org.nz/index.php/content/download/721/2871/file/Guidelines%20for%20cultural%20safety,%20the%20Trea ty%20of%20Waitangi,%20and%20Maori%20health%20in%20 nursing%20education%20and%20practice.pdf
It's not light reading but it's helpful. Good luck with the interview
