Nurse with diploma
Hey everyone,
I have just been granted nurse reg for NZ with a diploma. Was getting a bit twitchy but has now been approved!!! Yay!!!
I am now doing the EOI and wondering if anyone knows... does nurse registration count as a job offer?
Feels like everything is going to move so quickly now, how scary... and exciting!!!
Cheers, Sarah

I got my residency once I'd already been here and working as a nurse for a while on a work visa.
I also found that once I had registration it was literally a month later I had a solid job offer. I was in NZ 2 more months after that.

Oh wow! That sounds promising!
Unfortunately i'm bringing my partner and he is over 30 so we can't come on a working hol visa. Thought it would be best to just apply straight away for the skilled migrant visa. It's a shame because obviously employers will be much more inclined to offer a job if a visa is already in progress, but more points if you have an offer before applying for the EOI!!
The agency i am with have said it should be chosen automatically if i have reg, but it doesn't seem to be that straight forward.

Ah Laura is that the temporary work visa?? I reckon i missed that because we were searching for more permanent options. Or is it the work to residency visa? So confusing!!

Yes I had a temporary work visa granted for 3 years on the back of a job offer, it was fairly quick once I submitted the paperwork. It gave me some breathing room to apply for SMC and bonus because I was in NZ and working so got more points on my EOI.

Hi I hope a year later everything went to plan....im just starting the registration process as a diploma nurse, i've been out of the factory for 3 years and have done loads of courses in both adult and neonatal care (in house) so im hoping I can squeak through (I also hope they take into account that I was an army medic for 10 years)
