Yup. I don't have a car, so I s'pose that makes me a pedestrian and after a long walk a beer does hit the spot.

You've got a smart mouth Avid, just trying to keep the peace until all hell breaks loose and someone gets hurt.

That's the moderators job, not yours.

So....Is the Matterhorn (in Wellington) really the 5th best bar in the world??

Cider is really expensive here, and tastes like water, there is just no depth to the flavour at all and I loved my cider in the uk
Beer tastes sweet to me whatever I try here but Speights will do as long as we can buy it by the jug and it's icy cold. The kegs are kept in huge refrigerated units behind the bar at just above freezing temp which is prob why the kiwis say our beer is warm.
I haven't come across a pub with a proper cellar yet but then I'm not that well travelled around NZ yet.

So how come it is only around £2.20 where I live?......for proper real ale and plenty of choice.

I think you are 'elaborating' a little....for some reason

Because it's been watered down? Because you live in a rough area?

I don't know....

No...it's because in many areas (if not most) the price of beer is nowhere near £2.90 a pint

I actually live in the Peak district......not what I would call a rough area.
