North Shore - short term rent

Hello all

 have taken the plunge and flights booked  flying 11th Jan !!!

Heading for the North Shore area (hopefully around Long Bay/Torbay however we are flexible )

Any suggestions (or those in the know) about a short term rental - I guess probably a bach etc. just for a couple of weeks until we sort out a longer term rent ...

Or maybe a motel would be better/cheaper ????????

(Should point out we are a family of 5 !!!! )

I am trawling the holiday homes/book a bach sites but thought recommendations by those in the know may be better

thanks for any suggestions

Lou x

Some friends of ours stayed here for a month whilst looking for a long term rental. It is in between Torbay and Browns Bay.

Seavista near Waiake Beach? Some friends of ours stayed there a few years back and said the apartments were small, damp and shabby. But I think they've been upgraded since then.

Usually some good prices to be negotiated for long stays, but you are arriving in the peak holiday season

Yes, Seavista near Waiake Beach. My friends stayed there for a month last year and said they were ok. They did not complane abut damp or such.

Size is OK, not damp - and we were in during the wet and windy August just gone!

Looks like they have been refurbed recently too...

Many thanks to you all for suggestions..... am looking at a couple at the mo. As its high season many of them are already booked (and all very expensive!!!)

Maybe we should pack a tent in the hand luggage !!!!

Cheers all.
