No more child support!
 

Can anyone give me some good advice. I have two older children from a previous marriage in the UK who's father consented on the children coming over to NZ to live, however, the moment I left the UK stopped all child support for them! As our agreement was with the CSA they have told me that the case has been closed as they cannot collect as the children are not resident in the UK.
When I rang Child Support here in NZ they have told me that there is no reciprocal order between any other countries except for Australia.
So i'm not sure what road to take next?:confused:

Unfortunately they will only enforce it if there is a maintenance order in place by the courts, so I guess that if I want to try and collect anything for the kids I have to spend out on a day in court first!:thumbdown: The stupid thing is I was only trying to collect it from him so my kids can go back to the UK once a year to see him!!

Can you not have a discussion with their father and come to a private agreement? It may be that he is happy to have an account and book their flights etc as appropriate if he knows it is for visits?

What a pest, typical ex behaviour! Would be really interested to know how you get on with this as my older daughter is from previous marriage, she hasn't seen him for more than 3 years and I think I have to get his permission to bring her. So not looking forward to that conversation...been divorced 10 yrs! Good luck xx

Umm, what is? Not sure he has been actually involved yet, its the CSA that have stated they cant/won't continue to be involved.

That would seem a sensible approach and "protects" both parties as far as it goes. Always difficult cases and discussions to be had in the circumstances though....:fingerscrossed: you get a good result.

Unfortunately he does not have any intention of giving any of his money this way. He says he has too many debts to pay off so I feel I'm flogging a dead horse here! Perhaps, after a while of not seeing the children his conscience will get the better of him and he'll pay for their flights to go and see him. :unsure:
