Re: No classrooms, lessons or homework.

Bit too much hippy for me but we've all sat in school wondering why we where wearing jumpers with the heating on in the middle of summer or wearing shorts in winter while watching our breath drift from our lips in a cold classroom. My understanding is recent studies have show homework has no impact at all on a childs education, it's completely pointless yet strangely it must persist.

However school isn't really about education or learning is it? If we're honest it would be deemed deeply unfit for purpose if that where the most efficient way to teach people things. It's really about beating the thinky out of the little blighters before they get too clever by half and a sort of free daycare. Nonsensical rules and regulations are important part of preparation for later life. In many ways it's the closest many kids get to experiencing the prison system...except in prison you get 3 bowls of nutritious gruel a day which we somehow later decided was too greater kindness for our children?
