Newbie after some advice!
Hey everyone, i'm new to the site so first i thought i'd introduce myself. I'm Dan, 24, from Southampton, currently working as an electrical supervisor (qualified electrician) for one of the big energy companies. Me and my partner are toying with the idea of immigrating to new zealand but we're unsure of the process or if we'd even be eligible.
My sister and her now husband are soon moving over to New Zealand (her husband is kiwi). I don't know if this would help us in any way? From what i've read, i could potentially get residence from being an electrician, but where does my partner stand? she works in admin and we are not married. Any advice would be great! Thanks in advance  |
Re: Newbie after some advice!
It's all about the points, go to the government website and stick in some information to see if you qualify.

Hi there and welcome to BE.
If you and your partner have been together a good year and can prove a lasting, stable relationship , then she will be able to uplift a visa on the back of your application. Yes. Having a sister with residency in NZ will help. Sparkies are in shortage here in New Zealand . You would b e looking at what is called the Skilled Migrant Category and that is a points based system. Automatic selection for checking is 140 points. Under that , you would need a job offer to make a quality application. Do the official NZ POINTS INDICATOR - click the link. and come back to us with what you feel your points could be. You would also need to look at the EWRB registration process. Click that bolded link. You can gain a temp license but will need full NZ registration That should get you started |
