New Zealand much larger than i expected
Another fun thread
. I used to think New Zealand was a tiny nation not much bigger than Ireland before i came here however with it sitting beside Australia no wonder it looks small. This gives you a good idea how large New Zealand is

That there is barely any wild nature left on the north island.... The green desert we came to call it.

Hey, what's with the hostility towards this poster?! I think that's a neat little map overlay - I was aware of NZ's size before we came but it's still neat to see it.

I would say the % of wild nature on NZ's north island is equal to
or higher than most developed countries
I'd say there's plenty.

lol I knew very little of this Nation apart from the basic Maori culture and the Kiwis love for sports as it's extremely under populated and is usually seen as a shadow of Australia by expats around the world

What a great thread, I've already used it elsewhere.
It's a shame in my case that NZ is not that close to the UK, how great that would be for a weekend trip. I could even handle Ryanair for that short journey.
