Default New Year's Eve in Auckland

Hi everyone. Merry Christmas!

My parents are visiting us from Monday for our first nye in Auckland. We have left it too late to book something (reasonably priced) so just wondered if people could recommend some ideas?

Thanks

Fantastic response.

Are you in the CBD, if so head towards to the sky tower. Have dinner at Orbit and then be around for the fireworks off the skytower.

Federal street has some fantastic, more informal eats but your still around the skytower vicinity.

Then again dinner and midnight are far apart, depending where you are I would plan at least being in view of the skytower for midnight. As the other response says, what to you want to do in between?

To watch the fireworks and get a great view head down to the harbour. If you stand near the traffic lights at the end og quay street where the bars begin, perfect view and great atmosphere.

For something informal for dining, my favourite is the meze bar, just off queens street, cant remember the road name but is one of the pedestrian walk throughs to high street. Would still need ro book though.

thanks all. Yeah, was thinking dinner, drinks and then the fireworks. If anyone else has some more restaurant recommendations, that would be good
