Hi, we are hoping to move to the New Plymouth area, has anyone any recommendations re suburbs?

Hi there, have lived in New Plymouth since 2004.
Not an easy question to answer. Some areas are more upmarket than others but it does depend what you are after. The only area most will tell you to avoid is Marfell, but having said that we live pretty close to that and it's not an issue. Have you got a job because that might also help decide which side of town would be best.

I lived in NP for 4 years, mainly on the outskirts of the CBD and in Westown. I did flat once in Whaler's Gate for a few months, that was a nice area. I really liked it there and I try to get back there every year or so since leaving.
