I left the RN and joined the RNZN and have never looked back. We had the very same thoughts and questions that you seem to be having and there seemed to be no straightforward answers to anything. Because of that, I ended up writing a book about the whole emigration experience called 'Emigrating to New Zealand' that gives details on so many issues covering the 12 months or so before leaving UK and the initial settling period in NZ. It was published at the end of May this year by 'How to Books' in Oxford so why not have a look at a copy on the shelf - I'm sure it will be very useful in addressing a majority of your questions. Migration agents are a total rip-off and cannot guarantee that all important visa; wouldn't touch them with a barge pole!!! Good luck with your application Steve Horrell |
