I've been on it for a month or so. Looking to organise a neighbourhood bbq in the spring, so a handy way of breaking down barriers.

It's growing very quickly here in Tawa. It has the potential to be a very good thing.
I too have wondered how it can make money though. Especially as they post a letter to you to confirm identity so there's physical mail to pay for.

It'll try to make money by targetted and native advertising and marketing for those who opt in. Over time, if it manages to stay in business, this will surely increase.
The only thing that the company will have of value, apart from its physical assets, is a pretty reliable database (including verified postal addresses) of everyone who signs up to it and just as importantly, the strengths of ties to each other.
