Need Jeans for Work
What brand should I buy and where? Need to be tough, hard as nails tough, Chuck Norris tough. Don’t mind expensiveness or not coming in stone washed or acid etched finishes as long as they actually last. Everything I buy ends up with holes in the knees after a couple of months because they are made for pretty people who don’t actually do physical things .

Re: Need Jeans for Work
My OH swears by these Blue harbour Stormwear jeans from M&S. They're the only thing he ever asks anyone to bring! He particularly likes them cos they have a bit of stretch in them, for clambering about.
Over the years he's been supplied with a variety of the navy blue strides that pass as 'workwear', but always goes back to the old favourites as he can get away with them not actually looking like jeans. They last for ages and cope extremely well with being washed with various spanners, batteries, screwdrivers and bolts in the pockets. Failing that it's Levis from Farmers for $100 |
Re: Need Jeans for Work
Give up on jeans and go to a local riigging/forestry/safety shop.
You get a better choice of apparel that are actually designed for work and won't introduce you to Betty Swollocks.:o |
Re: Need Jeans for Work
Carhartt if you can get them in NZ.
Dickies also do work wear. |
Re: Need Jeans for Work
My husband wears Levis. Partly I suspect because he knows what size and style he likes and two pairs last him about two years for work and can then be demoted to 'home jeans' and he can just walk into any shop and buy the same size, same style ....
Jeans are worth spending a bit on, imo, they last and last if they're decent. |
Re: Need Jeans for Work
As hazeandsteve posted if you want hard wearing forget the pretty names and go to your local workwear outlet. In the UK I go for Dickies gear.:)

Re: Need Jeans for Work
Would consider trousers I suppose. Can you buy the ones the SAS/SBS wear in Afghanistan in more sensible colours? I bet they’d wear well :D.
