Waiheke Island (yes I know people commute, but it doesn't fit around my business right now), anywhere on Coromandel/Bay of Plenty (keeping a check on Tsunami risk) and I would see what Nelson is like.

Having said that I do love where we live now despite it not making it on to the list!

1) Where we live now....Whangaparaoa Peninsula
2) Coromandel
3) Taupo/Rotorua
4) Wanaka
Sorry I can't think of anywhere else I'd like to live. I'm happy living in the Auckland region. I can't imagine living anywhere else, even if the traffic is a pain in the bottom.

For North Island, I'd go for Coastal Hawke's Bay or I really like a place called Langs Beach.
South Island...Somewhere in Fiordland - Te Anau/Manapouri; Down South, like Riverton; or would love to try a big old villa around Highgate, Dunedin

In no particular order..
Whitianga, Coromandel Bay of Islands, Nelson, Picton,
but sadly jobs are, though for the most part I enjoy Auckland.
