My UK Passport runs out soon
Hey guys,
My UK passport is going to expire in about 5 months. I'm living in Wellington, and don't have a NZ passport.
do I have to send my passport to London? Or can it be done locally?

The Britsh Embassy in Welly will do it...look up the web site... you will also need to have your visa done again in your new passport. That can be done in Welly as well, just go in person to the NZ Immigration office on the terrace . I did this for my Kids Passports a couple of years ago...its no major problem...just cost's an arm and a leg like everything!

I did mine last year all through the post office they take the payment and sent it all off. Mine only took about 2weeks before it turned up in the letterbox

The only place to get it renewed now is via the Post Shop. Download the forms from here first: http://ukinnewzealand.fco.gov.uk/en/...ly/new-zealand Get your photos done in the chemist or even at the Postshop themselves (but must be to the British format not NZ). Remember also to get your NZ immigration visa transferred into it.

Aye, it's done through the post office, and an efficient service, though the price is significantly greater than getting in renewed in the UK :-(

You're not meant to. It could probably be done if you had the right help in the UK. I'm doing a trip there later this year and will renew mine while I'm there, it's about half the cost of doing it here
