Default Moving to Wellington Region?

For anyone planning a move to the Wellington Region, this website might be useful when deciding where to live.

live.upperhuttcity.com/

It's a local council run site but has links to estate agents sites.

A mate of mine lives on the Riverstone Terrces in Upper Hutt.

I quite like it up there.

I remember it when it used to be called Craig's Flat. There's been a lot of housing development up here since. Not a bad place to live and we have a micro climate here that makes it 3 - 4 degrees warmer than Wellington (but 3 - 4 degs colder in the winter!).

We are back in UK now but lived on Riverstone Teraces for 7 years its a great place and very nice houses only prob is no buses but I believe they are going to introduce them soon ,plus a shop is being built on the main road up so it saves the journey to pak n save or countdown (6 km) for small essentials .James Nairn Grove was a lovely quiet street well reccommended .You can do the drive to the station at Trentham or Upper Hutt and park there and get train to Wellington its only a 45 min trip to the city .A lovely area to live in and almost rural .

Stephen,
A recce is good assuming you're mobile as public transport would restrict what you can get around to see. The options are extensive depending on your tastes (urban or rural - coastal or countryside) and workable commuting distances from any likely workplace.
Let us know if we can give any help.
