Moving house within Chch
 

Hi guys
Has anyone used a removal company in Christchurch that they can recommend?

We're moving house from Burwood to Parklands so only 5 mins or so, and have willing friends to help but we think we'll probably hire a company to take most of the big things.

Any great or terrible stories?

Sorry I can't answer your question but I'll be watching this thread as we'll be moving house in Chch in a few months and last night I argued with OH about how we should get a removals company for the move, and not do all the lugging of belongings ourselves again! Hope you get sorted.

Rent a big trailer and diy seems to be the kiwi way :thumbsup:

Have moved several times within South island and have always used Crown, they are cheap, they do all the packing and we have had no problems, We are now using them to move to Aus for the same reasons

Thanks for your replies, have done diy many times and would like a hand this time from the pros! Will look into Crown :)

Not sure who is good! But I do know who is bad!!:frown:
DO NOT USE Allied Movers!! Lot's of damage to expensive goods despite being packed by them.:thumbdown:
Ended up making a $2500 claim, thankfully we got the lot.:)

We used christchurch removals, they were excellent, we did pack our own things but they did all the humping and dumping, they were really good and did a great job, we too were only going 5 mins up the road. I think they do offer a packing service.
