Hmm... if you didn't drink much miss jenn, why do those pics look suspiciously like they were taken by someone lying on the pub floor??

Ok! Someone moved my chair and I felt safe on the floor- so I took some photos- I think.
Funny, I don't remember being absent-minded.

Re: The most "English" pub in NZ?
Are there any pubs here trying to recreate a little oasis of the UK?
We did stumble across a couple in Auckland. "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" in Takapuna and a pub in Browns bay. All football shirts and yorkshire puds! But it was a bit like a "real English Pub" in Benidorm, out of place and naff.
The Patriot Bar in Devonport was a great place to hang out during the Lions Tours and we had some great night out's there.

So what's wrong with our local 'English' pub then ???

The cock and bull in Newmarket is hideous the only time i've ever thought what the **** am I doing in NZ was in there.
Not that i'm against english pubs, I want to find a good den I don't care what type of place it is but I would like a bit of the english pub spirit in it. Somewhere where they know your name.
Suggestions anyone in Mt Eden Epsom Newmarket area?
Galbraiths is good in mt eden. The cardrona is also OK.
