Default Mobile Phones

Hi.

Are there any good offers/deals on mobile phone tariffs in NZ - what are the approx. monthly costs and what do you get in return?

Which are the networks in operation in NZ?

Also what are the choice on broadband?

Looking to move to North Shore - are there option through cable?

Many thanks.

Steve.

hi there,

we are in christchurch. most people usually go with telecom for broadband. they are the biggest company and despite sometimes bad customer service the broadband is fine.

we have currently got a $50per month plan and that gives us 10gb of downloads. not too bad.

as for phones most people have either telecom or vodafone.

i have vodafone and just do prepay. there is a deal called best mate which you can nominate from 1-3 peoples numbers (like your missus etc) and you pay like $6 per month and the calls and texts are totally free!! its a good deal and well worth it if you text or call the same people often.

thats the plans we have, im sure others have different plans to suit their needs. hope this helps, Grant

AKT will become famous soon enough
Default Re: Mobile Phones

prepare for a shock - they are all pricey

Contracts are 24 months and not that good value, phones you have to pay for (bring you one from the UK and get it unlocked - before you leave).

www.vodafone.co.nz
www.bw.co.nz <--- vodafone network, but better prices (just) and no long contracts.

Telecom is CDM network so you need a different phone, etc. they aren't well priced either.

Voda/ B&W with best mates is your best bet IMO

If I bring an unlocked phone with me how much generally are the 'pay as you go' and 'pay monthly' sim cards to buy then?

Thanks.
