I only know of Telecom and vodafone over here with top up pay as you go phones, might be wrong though.
I know with the Telecom pay as you go phones they are not completely compatible with lots of networks in the uk so I could text my mates and they would recieve but they couldn't text back to me ... that was two years ago now though so they might have sorted that one out.

Just thought ... Telecom are simless phones anyways so that would be no good to you so you prob will just have to get a vodafone sim from the airport outlet when you arrive.

I think Vodafone Pay As You Go sim cards are $35 at the moment. They do have $5 credit on them and you are able to claim an extra $10 if you register on their site
