Might be emigrating to Auckland - please help.
 

Hi everyone
My wife is in the last stages (agreeing on package details) of being offered a job as a Credit Risk Analytics Manager for a bank in Auckland.
We have been in Singapore since October 2010 with just my wife working and me being a house husband. My wife`s salary is very good but the amount of hours that she has to put in are well over the top. We have no time to enjoy life together here.
I am 57 years old and my wife is 46. I gave up my job in the UK as a machine shop manager so that my wife could pursue her career and for us to see a bit more of the world at the same time.
We are hoping that a move to New Zealand, with its more 'relaxed' life style will allow us to enjoy life a bit more.
Now you`ve got the picture, I have a couple of questions to ask.

What are the chances of me (given my age) of getting a job, to help with the finances? (I am a qualified Toolmaker by trade) and do you have any other advice?

I can't answer about toolmaking in Auckland as I'm a 56 yr old plumbers wife down in Nelson. :D

Thank you both for the welcome. If all goes to plan and my wife accepts the job offer, we should be coming to NZ in September.

Just wanted to welcome you to the forum :thumbup:. Sorry I can't answer your questions, although we live in the Auckland region, I was a midwife & OH is a Strategic Procurement manager.
