California has decided to make marijuana available via vending machines for people who have a medical reason to use the drug.

I was just thinking....New Zealand is a very liberal country, with a lot of 'alternative' health practitioners and a huge 'smokers' culture.

Do you think it should follow suit and make marijuana available legally?

You have to pre-register with a hospital to get the access card for the machine. The machine uses fingerprint recognition to make sure it's you.

One of the benefits of the USA becoming a police state is that the technology exists to make this work!


Hmmmmm....whilst New Zealand has plenty of maijuana it's going to be a while before 'fingerprint recognition' gets here.....or vending machines, for that matter.

sorry,think NZ has enough problems with drugs without legalising vending machines here.....regardless of it being only legal for medicinal purposes,where theres a will theres a way for these potheads....and imho is asking for trouble....jacky

well...yes, but medicinal marijuana is hardly in the same league as methamphetamine, is it? If all the 'hoolies' smoked dope all day this country would be very safe indeed.

And there would be zero car accidents with everybody travelling at 5/kmh.

I wonder what drug company has carried out the clinical trials, is going to ensure the quality control of this medicine, what form it is to be delivered in and provide information on usage and contraindications.
