Default Medical?

Hi All

First post although I have been a member for a while. I have been thinking about emigrating to NZ for some time.
I meet the criteria under the new changes (with a job offer) my main concern is after looking into the medical I am worried I will fail it due to having mild Osteoarthritis in one hip apart from that I am in good health.

The acceptable standard of health (applicants for residence) states:
Musculoskeletal diseases or disorders such as osteoarthritis with a high probability of surgery in the next five years.

I am young to have osteoarthritis 32 I think that it is unlikely I will need surgery in the next 5 years I will need surgery at some point in the future possibly in my 40s. After seeing other people’s posts and issues with medicals they appear to be very strict on even small medical issues. I know that the majority of you may not be medically trained but any advice, experiences or opinions of what the likely outcome would be for me would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Default Re: Medical?

welcome and glad you came out of the shadows

If it does come to a medical referral you would be best of getting a letter from your consultant explaining what has been up to that point and what they see happening in the future with time lines.

I would personally first speak to the consultant and make sure that he is prepared to give this information out and what he would say in the letter for going forward.

then it is up to Immigration to decide and if then decide against you would have to hire a adviser that specialises in medical appeals.
