Hi people, quick question...is Mastercard readily accepted in supermarkets and shops in NZ? Never used one before but was offered a prepaid/preloaded card when I went to order currency. Will be bringing cash too, would only use card for food and fuel.

When are you heading out J19fmm? How do you get a pre loaded credit card? Never heard of one! x

Perhaps that sounds wrong. It's called a cash passport, available from Thomas Cook for different currencies. You can preload it from here with NZ$ and use it as a 'credit/debit' card as has MasterCard symbol on it.
Out for a couple of weeks starting July 28th return 13th August.

Me neither! I borrow Mr S's Mastercard when I need one...

He has always had a Mastercard credit card and no problems with acceptance [and neither have I]
