MAF costs

Not particularly impressed with NZ Van Lines. Not very forthcoming and very difficult to contact. PSS were decent at the UK end but then we dealt with them and paid for everything through them. NZVL not interested in the slightest, feel very low down their list of priorities only contacted me when they wanted paying. Wouldn't use them on the way back.

You do the paperwork for MAF and give to WVL or TMC whichever the 3rd party movers this NZ side are.
They take your paperwork .
Container sits around.
They give your own paperowrk to MAF
MAF do their thing which they would do regardless if you handed in own paperwork yourself.
MAF do or do not levy fees .
3rd party mover levy 'service fee' on top of MAF fees ( except I certainly hope this scammy carry on is no longer happening.)
You pay up straight away or else no container and perhaps incur storage fees to boot.
When you book back in the UK you pay for door to door service excluding MAF fees. Double check there is no service fee and bluddy shout long and hard to your original shipper about no service.

Thanks for the info BEVS. The invoice had the following items:
Customs ITF Fee
MPI Quarantine Exam Fee
Not sure if there is a hidden charge there?

AFAIK
Read HERE
Quarantined for what reason exactly. You should be told what was treated if that was indeed the case.
