Hi guys.....
We are trying to decide between container companies at the mo for shipment in Jan and am being told MAF invoice us directly (but via NZ handling company) which seems a contradiction from the outset

Have read some threads on here regarding the MAF charge on arrival in NZ being invoiced with 'additional' costs from NZ handlers.

I am a bit confused (doesn't take much !!!!) as to what happens on arrival in NZ . Once container is offloaded I guess MAF look at inventory and identify specific boxes they want to check. Is this done on dock side??? Therefore I suppose there may be 'additional' charges for handling as sods law will dictate it will be the boxes right at the back and handlers will need to unpack/repack ?????

Or do they /can you request that the container is delivered to address and then MAF come out to inspect the specific boxes before opening ???? Is this standard practice or do you pay extra to request MAF come out ???
