Hi

We booked emirates using the moving planet code; this gave us 50kg of luggage allowance per person

We are flying Manchester/Dubai/Sydney then Christchurch on the 8th Feb...not long now!!

The code we used is UKMOVE1; you then need to e-mail emirates with visa details and they authorise the additional allowance

Hope this helps

Mark

Air NZ premium economy via LA 64kgs each + 7kgs hand luggage each.

Think economy is 40kgs each via LA and if you book LA as a stopover ie onward flight in same booking then these allowances would apply.

Discount code for Air NZ .....Emigrat**** in promo box gave us about £300 so worth using!!

We flew with Singapore Airlines on the way over with a weeks stop over in Sing. I had learned from this forum that if you contact the airline in advance and let them know you are emigrating they will give you increased allowance. I even got them to confirm this in an e-mail (which I printed and brought to the airport with me for peace of mind sake).

This is what I did and it worked fine. In fact, we managed to go over our allowance, but the nice lady at the airport turned a blind eye because we were migrating.

Hope this helps.

We were told by singapore airlines that we would get 40kg if our visas had "migrant visa" written on them.
I told them we had PR visas which meant the same thing, singapore said no it doesnt.
When we got to the check in desk at manchester airport the girl there said "of course you get 40kg, what on earth were they thinking telling you otherwise?"

Air New Zealand gave us 64Kg each in ecomony no problem. As long as you go via LA this baggage allowance is standard they told us, so a stop over is no problem

AirNZ London to NZ via LA = 64kg per person (split between two pieces) is for Premium Economy and Business calss only. Economy is 46kg per person (split between two pieces). No one piece can be over 32kg.

For 'Checked in Baggage' see HERE

For 'Cabin Baggage' see HERE

Hope that helps

We came on Air NZ one way via LA and stopped for 3 days to take the kids to Disneyland

We used the 46Kg each allowance no problems, although we did have to use the Disneyland Express coach transfer from the airport to our hotel as there was no way all our luggage was going to fit in a hire car

Forgot to say we got 15% discount using the code emigrat**** on the Air NZ website.

Make sure you book any flights and transfers on one booking and then you get the 46kg on any internal Air NZ transfer flights from Auckland.
