Looks like our plans have been thwarted :-(
After an unexpected health issue last week which I am non the wiser about until I've been summoned to 'the clinic' it looks like our plans for NZ are scuppered. We certainly won't make it for January as planned, very possibly not at all. Gutted. And mere days after forking out for NZMC registration as well. Sigh.

Re: Looks like our plans have been thwarted :-(
So, I had applied for a job in Waikato Hospital before my recent health hiccup (which I am still awaiting investigations and clinic appointments for).
I have a telephone interview booked for Sunday night (UK time), Monday morning (NZ time).
I haven't told them about the recent events, and feel I need not, at least until I've seen the doc and had the investigations...
Any suggestions on what they may ask me? I figure they will ask about my moving plans...

I've had a few interviews here (education sector) and have found them to be very fair. The best ones were where you got to see the questions before hand! I know people advise things like: dress as if you are at a real face to face interview, sit at a table etc. But I feel as long as you are in a peaceful place you just make yourself feel as comfy as possible and take your time answering. Ask them to repeat it if needs be and if the phone line is rubbish then say so.
Go get them!

Yes, I have arranged to be at OH's house for some peace and quiet (leaving the kids home with my dad). He will be out of my way and I will be warm, comfortable and well fed/watered at the kitchen table. That is the plan anyways!
I'm pretty sure I'll be back here sometime afterwards to cry about what a mess I made of it

Sorry to hear your terrible news, fingers crossed that whatever it is - things improve for you. Best of luck with whatever you decide in future.

I think it went OK, but I'm not sure. They did say a few times at the end about needing the OK from health (they are sending a standard form by email) and my references before they can send me a firm offer. I presume that means didn't decide I was an instant lost cause!
