Can anyone make any suggestions about short term furnished accommodation in the Christchurch area? We are a family of 4, the children being teenagers.

What's your threshhold of pain, er...how much are you willing to shell out per week?
edit: Oh, I see you have teenagers. Then you should have a high tolerance for pain.

Here are a few sites...

Here's a Link for Oaks Smartstay, Fantastic newly decorated, clean and i think good priced accommodation...I loved it there, we had a one roomed apartment but they do two bedroomed apartments too!

we stayed here when we first arrived, close enough to town, Scott St itself is a little tired but the cottage was lovely

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your preparations for your move to NZ - If you have any questions I sure there are many people here that are willing to help.

I have a 4 bedroom detached place I am renting short term - it is fully furnished and has everything you need until the container comes. It is a flat price per family per night and includes everything, power use of phone etc. It is in a nice area on outskirts of Christchurch in a good area for schools and many other facillities. The price is per family per night and includes everything. It has recently been refurbished and re decorated. The house is only 6 years old and set amongst other new homes.

Wow - what a response, thank you all so much. There is certainly a fair range there and plenty to choose from. There was me thinking it was gonna be hard. I have contacted a few from your recommendations and will see how things go. It seems pricey at first but when it it broken down and converted to pounds and then considering they are fully furnished and power etc is included I think there are some good deals there. thanks again Nick
