LOOK... what we got today...
PR was approved weeks ago, was still waiting for the passports and other documentation to arrive. So, made an appointment to go and pick it all up personally at NZI on Haymarket...
All our passports (all six of them...) have these in now...
Don't know what I expected, was really excited about getting them and turned out to be a bit of an anticlimax. Thought they'd have balloons, a marching band and a huge congratulations sign on the door as I went in to pick them up.
Pressed a bell, someone came out, handed over the documents and passports, reminded me they had just charged be £480.00 migrants levy - you forget all about that don't you... and then said, goodbye!! Ah well, I had a smile on my face anyway.
That migrant levy was a rude awakening. You pay to submit our EOI, you pay to submit your ITA, you pay to do your medicals, and then once you're approved, you have to pay again to cover the migrant levy - problem is, things often take so long between the stages you forget all about it and it comes at a time when you're skint from covering moving costs etc.
Anyway, £500 lighter and here we are all set to head off on March 26th with pretty blue stickers in our passports...

Congratulations. It takes a while for it to sink in really. It's only when you need them that those blue stickers make you feel you really belong. At least that's the way I felt We are born in a country and take it for granted but getting those stickers tells you that you are wanted by a country.

Congratulations!
You'll pay again in 5 years if you want your citizenship - someone must be raking it in!
Good luck with your future plans.
