Living Rural in NZ - from Welcome Inn
Hello folks, I moved to NZ a wee while ago, after leaving the forces. However the funny thing is I learnt about this site from searching for information on the Wine Festivals in Hungary. We own a small house there which we are renovating slowly and planned to visit next year ... the house is in Tarcal just up the road from Tokaj - this is known as the Kings Wine district. My first job here was as a mechanical design engineer and then I moved to a Electronic Engineer. In trying to move along I moved to another job nearer home rather than the commute to the Auckland CBD and managed to get a job in Takapuna.
I have worked in mostly Auckland, in the city and North Shore ... but got fed up with Corporate fun and branched out with a small shop in Natural Health ...... this has led on to a small importing company and we moved to a rural location in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. I have lived in a lot of areas around the country but the best weather patterns are definitely in the Bay. One of the best and fattest growing towns in NZ is Tauranga and it is a great place with good weather. Auckland is very humid and expensive hence my move away from it after many years. Enough from me and basically if anyone wants help or info. then please feel free to ask.
