Less money for you.

Pay for a significant number of job roles fell in 2011, showing businesses are finding the going tough, according to a national salary survey.

Employers and Manufacturers Association (Northern) employment services manager David Lowe said pay for 54 of 215 position dropped in 2011, compared to just three in 2008, according to the National Wage and Salary Survey.

In 2009, pay fell for 47 positions of 215 roles, and in 2010, pay decreased for 55 roles of 215 positions.

"Statistically some positions always go down but to have so many positions showing a decrease three years in a row shows many businesses are finding the going tough," said Lowe.
...
Employers are by and large forecasting that pay reviews next year will be about the same as this year, he said.

It seems to be true in IT - when I looked around a year or so ago salaries were 10-20% less than my current rate.
