Lawnmower Cleaning Charge??

Hi, we had the shippers in for quote and they claim that as lawnmowers are subject to a compulsory cleaning charge every time they aren't worth taking - but ours is a nearly new £500 mower so does anyone have experience of what the professional cleaning charge is in NZ so we can decide if it really is worth taking or not?

Mucho ta!

Sounds like bollocks to me. I brought mine over, having thoroughly cleaned it and the MAF man was quite happy. If in doubt, you can email the MAF via their website. I did this regarding a tanned animal hide which my shippers said couldn't be brought, this advice also turned out to be false.
Top tip though - drain the oil from the mower. I forgot, the packers put it in the contained on its side, and all the oil came out over the stuff below.

If you're mechanically minded, remove all covers, jet wash and cover in Jeyes Fluid. I bought mine over, stripped it, cleaned it and covered it in Jeyes. The man from MAF was mightily impressed!

If it's fuel powered, drain fuel and oil
