A land of two halves....

I also liked Kiwis Might Fly by Polly Evans - British woman rides a motorbike around NZ searching for the typical Kiwi male.

Another one is ...'The 1 Thing' by Bob Moore, a small epic journey down New Zealands mother road. It's an ok read, had hoped it would be better. Written by a Brit, he travels the length of Rd1 and trys to do 1thing at every stop on the way from Cape Reinga to the South. Felt he ran out of things to say!!!

I've read 'A Land of two Halves' and also enjoyed the Polly Evans book mentioned earlier, Kiwis Might Fly.
Another excellent book on NZ is Kiwi Tracks: New Zealand Journey by Andrew Stevenson

I was not so keen on Straying from the Flock: Travels in New Zealand by Alexander Elder, it's not as good a read, and the guy's arrogance and moaning put me off.
Also got but not yet started: New Boots in New Zealand: Nine Great Walks, Three Islands and One Tramping Virgin by Gillian Orrell
