Just off the phone from talking with a rather upset daughter whose trip to Scotland for Christmas has been cancelled due to more snow both there and in N Devon. Whilst their flight hasn't been cancelled yet (not due to leave until mid-late afternoon UK time), mum and sis can't get their cars out in N Devon, and neither can brother in Scotland.

Such a shame for daughter and niece who have both been counting down the days Tried to find something to cheer her up a bit, so suggestd that she gets her aunt to walk her down to the local supermarket to buy christmas fare, and she can make her nan a Christmas cake

That's a real shame, roads are a mess here. I suggested an 'exciting' trip to the supermarket with the kids if we all took a backpack only to be told it's really 'sad' to carry a pack...well they'll find it more sad when there's nowt for tea!!!!!
Hope they make the best of it together

Still snowing here, about 8" this morning. Had a nightmare attempt to get to work, turned around and only just made it home, all local town centres 'no go areas' M5 virtually impassable so A38 between Taunton & Wellington grid locked.....snow supposed to be easing lunch time but coming in again later.
Hope DD manages to enjoy her Christmas despite all the disruption

Hi B, popped up to Exeter AS Canoes this morning - awesome snow on the A30!!! We got a second hand Dagger Showdown , got the guy down £25 !! The canal was totally frozen so no trial except sitting on dry land. Soooo excited, stashed it in the shed, can't wait for the kids to see it....
OK I'll calm down now

Drinks on me

Have officially been on holiday for just over four hours (and spent most of that time doing Christmas related shopping ), and won't be going back until next year - I love how that sounds!!

Just need to spend tomorrow blitzing the housework and then I can kick back and do what I want for myself for a bit
