I've spent many days at Waikanae competing in tournaments - the croquet club is next to the domain which is very popular with riders - think there are jumps and a cross country course - I've often been sitting watching the horses and suddenly heard "It's your turn!"

Too right, chief. First thing we're going to do is have a get together, a put-faces-to-names competition when we get there. A double sounds tremendously super smashing, gonna accept,ta.

Bring it on.

My club is in the town belt above the hospital - pretty peaceful setting, tuis singing - great place to relax - we can hear the lions roaring and the monkeys screeching in the distance. There is a Pacific Island "happy clappy" church nearby and at Christmas it is really bizarre to be out in the sun in 80 degrees of heat with a Samoan choir singing Silent Night! You'll all have to come for a game when you arrive. The clubhouse veranda gets the last rays of the sun where many a chardonnay or beer has disappeared!

Walkers crisps-mixed-in a bowl. There you go. Guess the flavours!
Thought you'd gone home, Danny! February will come round really quickly - think it's February when you're arriving?

Maybe you should start playing some kiwi music on that jukebox - Split Enz, Dave Dobbyn or, for some local flavour - The Windy City Strugglers?

Sorry, should have added that, the reason we can hear lions and monkeys in the distance, is that Newtown Zoo is nearby - don't want you to think that Wellington is awash with wild animals! Maybe I've had one too many!
