Default Kidnapping, How not to??

Were in the process of gathering all our paperwork ready to complete our ITA if it ever arrives. Were taking my partners 3 year old son, his father is ok with us taking him, I've had a look round and read a few things and it would appear there is no "official" paperwork to get him to sign to give his consent, is this the case, i'd appreciate any advice as I'm sure were not the first to do this.
Cheers.

You will need to get him to sign a consent form with a solicitor (cannot remember the correct title). Until you have this signature he can with draw his consent at any time.

Thanks for the reply
I thought there must be something official we needed to do.
