Thanks everyone, the homework does sound slightly different. My 8 year old last weekend had to do geography - finding place names on an atlas and listing them depending on their viking/anglo saxon names, a sheet of long division, multiplication and addition which had to be estimated and then worked out (to which all I can say is bring back the old fashioned column system!!!!!!!). Not forgetting reading and 10 spellings ending in -ate (concentrate, estimate etc) - I think helping at home seems a great plan!

We've heard nothing back from last weekend's viewing so we'll have to keep dreaming for now!

my kids attend Kapanui school, they love it there & i don't really have any complaints about the school, both my kids are doing really well there so far.
