Just because am on a work permit, my employer should not go & think I'll accept all this b'sh*t that's being thrown at me...

Am young & not scared... Can easily pack my bags and go.

This was a thing that kindda disturb when I was in the UK & employers thought that ppl on work permits had to stay (OH is from western africa & had work permit in the UK).

Now it's me on a work permit & the same's happening... No no no

I must admit, it'd be a shame to pack n go... Since we've not seen anywhere but Auckland's CBD... But it's life!

I'll speak with HR first tho... Worked for this company nearly 10yrs & cant believe what am seeing...

You think you have problems though, I have a friend in the UK who got a call from his accountant last Friday telling him they could no longer continue trading. We are living the good life, no? It's sunny outside and we don't have to tell anyone they no longer have a job .

Matewx - I can totally sympathise with you. My first job here last year (whilst on WP) was utter sh!te too - never in all my years (and I am a good few years older than you) have I been the victim of Management bullying but I was there and they thought they could get away with it by intimidation. Managed to escape as soon as I received PR and next employer was wonderful in comparison. At least you have an HR dept to complain to!

Good luck and hope you resolve the issues soon. If you can get same job in different company then you can get a variation of conditions for your Work Permit.

Just had a big downer day... Wont go on here about details, but yeah I could be happier

But this brings a whole lot of questions... Which I need to go through!!!

Hope today's a better day Matewx. We spend so much time at work that when it's sh1t it affects everything else. The first time we came to NZ I worked on the worst ward I've ever encountered. The bullies made my life a misery & I only stuck it for 7 weeks. No-one at work was interested, these same people are still there, making other British midwives' lives a misery. I'm glad I got out. I did go back there as an agency midwife a couple of years back & told them what I thought of them

I hope HR are able to help you, though I have little faith in HR from experience! Good luck.
