Ticks!
I forgot about the MASSIVE tick that lodged itself into my then 3 year old daughter's head in the Bunya Pines NP We were thankfully just 30 mins from a visitor centre with a ranger, so we ran all the way there. We usually cover ticks (on our dog) in vaseline and are used to doing this because we lived near the Quantocks in the UK, but weren't happy about leaving it in or risking a bodged removal. The ranger applied very high concentrate tea tree oil and removed it quite skillfully I thought.
