Judgement Debt - What now?

Hi All

My husband recently received a determination/judgment in his favour from the employment relations authority for unpaid holiday pay and statutory days against a previous employer.

It seems that its not worth the paper its written on:mad:

This ex employer is claiming financial hardship and is offering $50 a month.

Funny though, that he can afford tickets for fishing competitions at $200 and car stereos at $150 (His Trade Me account).

Our barrister says that the quickest way of getting the money is to declare him bankrupt but this is going to cost us $4500 +GST! and then apparently we will only be able to claim about $1500 of these costs back.

He is a director of 3 companies and seems to have a lot of his assets tied up within these companies.

We don't know what to do now. Does anyone have any advice or similar circumstances that they can relay?

Its extremely frustrating as its taken over 2 years to get to this stage.
