OMG after a 14 hour delay in Hong Kong following a reported engine fire!!! i have finally arrived in Auckland !!!! I am soooooooooooooooo tired & have no idea where anything is or even what day it is ! who cares i did it !! am not totally useless though.... have opened bank account & managed to catch bus going in the wrong direction !!!! but how else do you learn! need to find me some food & go have a look around...

cheers.......jet lag ? what jet lag? as im nodding off in the cafe! thankfully no drool yet.. i have made it as far as newmarket & am now tring to work out how people arrange accomodation as work have very kindly put me up at Quest in Parnell but till friday! this new country thing is hard !! this sounds stupid but i'm so absolutley chuffed that im here , cos i was seriously going to get on a plane back at 2am !!!!
any advice on anything really, lets be honest i'm shite at this!, would be fantastic!

We stayed in Quest on Nelson for the first two months. Its much cheaper than the other Quests in Auckland and the people on reception are fab and can give you a long term deal.

Rental lists are usually available on the reception desks of estate agents or more commonly in little boxes outside the agents or Barfoot and Thompson will e-mail the new rental lists out to you directly.

Good to hear you have landed at last.

We have been here about six weeks now and it is generally fab ( please ignore the rant I had about three weeks ago. I had real estate issues!!)

Trademe is brilliant for renting and for private sales ( if you are thinking of buying). Whereabouts are you thinking of basing yourself?

Take some time out to enjoy being here. There is so much to experience and explore here in Auckland ... and I recommend any of the hot springs for helping to get over jet lag.

Hope all was well in Cumbria when you left...can't say we've missed it!

cheers, i'm at the parnell one & expensive it certainly is! only here till friday though, going to try & get my arse in gear today, got that much swirling round in my head that i dont know what to do first. will pick up a paper, try & find holiday rental out of the city, which will no doubt involve buying a car !!! fist need to gat uk mobile sorted so ...shower then off to find somewhere that will oblige.
