Re: Its a long way from home when
thanks everyone.
surprised his phone made it through the crash by the sounds of damage to the bike. I think his tank bag must of gone off with the bike so assuming his charger is in that. I know a friend of his is bringing a charger in for him, not sure if its his own or just borrowing one.
very grateful for social media

your eldest has to be air lifted to hospital after a motor cycle accident.
3 broken ribs, broken collar bone. And a collapsed lung so has a drain in.
can't get hold of him on his mobile and as yet no idea what ward he is in. But from all accounts because he was wearing the right gear he has managed to survive the high side and impact with a bank. ******* idiot removed his helmet but hopefully he has caused no damage.

Re: Its a long way from home when
not the bikes fault hun.
well spoke to him just now, well sort of as he can't speak that well with his injuries. He's going to be having a operation on his clavicle this afternoon. Apparently the lung isn't going to be a problem during the operation so they think he might as well get the healing under way all in one go.
Also Spoken to the Sister on the ward who is apparently not allowing his father to be in the ward apart from visiting times. Consultant asked Eldest where his next of kin where and he told him that the Sister had not allowed anyone to be there apart from visiting times so not sure if that is now going to be changed as he got to tired to talk more and just wants to concentrate on getting the operation out of the way.
have looked at flights back but to be honest if there not going to allow people to be there in person for the day the FB chat is easier for him than talking so get more out of him being here rather than being over there and he does have his father there albeit only at visiting times. Just wish his father had a bit more balls to argue the need for someone to be with him to discuss implications with things that he may not understand fully being drugged up and still in lots of pain.

Sounds like he got off relatively lightly all things considered. Just a pig that you can't get to him. Daughter was in hospital and she had to tell the main person that yes whilst shw was an adult she did want and need her parents in when being given info. That was here but worth telling your son. They have to go with what the patient wants. All the best.

So sorry to hear this, it must be so hard for you being so far away.
Hope the surgery goes well and he'll be up and about soon - though maybe sticking to 4 wheels for the time being.
All the best
Thinking of you

Re: Its a long way from home when
certainly did, if he wasn't wearing full leathers he wouldn't be here from what I've been told.
Operation didn't happen, surgeon ran over time, which although still leaves him in pain with the dislocation and completely broken clavicle, gives his lung another 24hrs to strengthen.

Re: Its a long way from home when
As an adult your son needs to give permission for his Dad to be there & also permission for the hospital staff to pass on full disclosure to you , his Mum. They have to go with his wishes .
Scary monster stuff MrsF. Hope they get the op out of the way and he can start on the healing and recovery.

You must be so glad he was wearing full leathers. The alternative just does not bear thinking about.
Hope he gets the operation he needs very soon.

Oh dear, he doesn't have to wait too much longer for hos op and will be on the mend - it's such a drag being on opposite timezones at times like this.
