turns out it took me less than 24 hrs since finding out UK marmite existed to think it was time to treat myself...looking forward to some toast for tea!

Hmm, I had to make my irregular trip to Pak n Save today (needed loo rolls and am too tight to pay Countdown/New World prices for something that's going to end up down the drain!), so took a look for the OurMate to compare prices - only to find I couldn't find it There was a whole shelf width of Vegemite *retching noises* and Sanitarium Marmite (IMPOSTER!!!!), but none of the real stuff

I have a small jar in the cupboard; the kids know that it's not for daily consumption and to be used sparingly as a treat - that way I justify the cost to OH

Sadly it is only small jars that are available but if you can find a 'normal' supermarket that sells it rather than an English specific shop, it is about $3.87 ish for a jar. I had someone bring me a decent size jar from the UK last year. Almost a year later we're still using that same jar, so it's not like we're eating it every day and one of the smallest jars would probably see us through about three months. A jar of jam costs similar and doesn't last half as long, so I don't begrudge the cost.
