Introduction
 

Hello!!

Just a quick courtesy post really! My Partner and I (and scruffy dog) have submitted the EOI, which has been selected and approved just before xmas, and we are now waiting for our invitation to apply for the skilled migrant visa!
I'm an electrical Engineer and he is an Osteopath... so both on the skills shortages!

I have recently been interviewed for a job in Auckland, so depending on whether I am successful or not will have a huge bearing on when we finally go! Obviously things will be moving a lot faster if I am, although the dog means it will be no sooner than 6months! If not then we hope to go April 2017.

I really just wanted to get an initial post in, as I am sure we will have lots of queries and questions as we go along the visa process... not to mention advice about other practical things!

Welcome Claire, the people on here are really friendly and very knowledgeable, welcome to the journey and good luck with the interview.

One thing we found with MrH being an electrical engineer is you need to be chartered here so you can go on the register over in NZ. Have you checked the NZ engineering website?

Ooo another female electrical engineer.....that's cool. Not many about in NZ.
We only have 2 in our team of 29!!!
