International Arrival to New Zealand

We just got back from a two week trip the the U.S. and as we walked into Auckland airport there was the wooden gateway with the Maori carvings and a recorded waiata playing, followed by a corridor of wall-sized photos of New Zealand. It really made me feel proud of this country, and reinforced the feeling of being home.

I can't imagine feeling the same way landing in Manchester or Heathrow.

New Zealand is definitely home.

It is alright isn't it? It could be a bit cringey but it isn't.

We just came back for a visit and at passport control was very nice to hear "Welcome Home" ! I have an European passport with a NZ visa and at the moment we live in London but NZ is HOME and I am proud to say so!
