Default Insulation

For anyone that hasn't had their house insulated, the govt subsidy is still available.
We finally got ours quoted today and we are able to get 30 % of the roof and underfloor.
Plus, the balance can be placed on our rates bill, to be paid of over up to 9 years with no early settlement penalties.
I know this sounds like a pitch, but I'm just kicking myslef that I didn't organise this before and just letting everyone else know, especially the newbies.
Here's a link for aucklanders
Otherwise, google EECA and follow from there (the link is broken today so haven't posted it)

I was also told that when adding the costs to your rates bill, any balance remaining when/if you sell transfers to the new owners. So you don't take it with you...

It looks like Dunedin Council is deciding this week whether to start offering this scheme. With the amount of snotty, coughing, sneezing, wheezing kiwis around they certainly should do.
