Default Importing foodstuffs

Anyone up to speed on the regs. We are doing a short trip back to UK in May and I would love to bring back 4 or 5 large Marmite (it hurts me paying $5 for a tiny jar of 'Our Mate'). Is it legal, do I have to declare them?

I always bring heaps of food back. Just declare it and all will be fine.

I assume the food you bring is processed and sealed, can you give me examples of what has been accepted (can I add chocolate ginger) :-)

Yes always processed and sealed: cake, biscuits, oil, pickles, chocs, sweets, crisps, etc. nothing fresh. But always declare it.

I always declare everything! We bring lollies, chips, Bisto powder (don't judge me) and just about anything we crave. As long as you've declared it, even if they decide you can't have it, you won't get into trouble.
